Peanut Butter Swirl Bars
Quick Peanut Butter Swirl Bars
These chocolate peanut butter squares are made often, at our house. Quick and easy blondie recipe with two of your favorite ingredients, Chocolate and Peanut Butter!
You can use crunchy peanut butter or smooth. The chocolate chips are swirled gently into the batter to create marble effect.
Serves: 24 Squares
Ingredients1/2 cup butter1/2 cup peanut butter3/4 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup white sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
1 cup unbleached all-purpose flour (beached flour toughens baked goods)
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
12-oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips or 1 1/2 cups (I use 3/4 milk chocolate and 3/4 semi-sweet chocolate chips)
Instructions
1. Mix all ingredients, except chips.
2. Sprinkle them on top.
3. Place in 350° oven for 5 minutes
4. Remove from oven; run a knife through in swirling patterns to marbleize.
5. Return to oven. Bake for 20-25 minutes.
6. Cool; cut into bars.
Notes
Try not to over blend when swirling the softened chocolate chips into the batter. You want to
see the peanut butter and not just the chocolate.
